Today we kicked off a preparation for Ekaterina’s 3rd kimono fashion show. It’ll be held on March 29 (Tue), exactly 2 months later, and Ekaterina works on her new dresses everyday until 5AM or 6AM!

今日は１月２９日。エカテリーナさんの第３弾着物ファッションショーまで、あとぴったり２ヶ月です。エカテリーナさんは、今からせっせとドレスを作ってます！何でも、毎朝５時頃まで没頭しているらしいんですよ！そこで今夜は、このファッションショーのプロデューサーをゲストにお迎えして、キックオフ会を開きました。

Today’s guest was Tatsuro Nishimura, a producer of her kimono fashion show. He wrote Ekaterina’s “A Story of Old Castle” and “Polar Bear (Hokkyoku Guma)”. Nishimura has known her about seven years.

He was very surprised at Ekaterina’s talent. He thought; “She is an excellent designer. She doesn’t make costumes on the side. She has developed her stage costumes into a fine art!” Especially when he looked at dresses that were made from men’s kimonos, he was amazed at her creativity.
He was chosen as a show producer in an unexpected turn of events, but he’s so motivated.

西村達郎さん。作詞家で、エカテリーナさんの日本でのメジャーデビューのきっかけとなった『古いお城のものがたり』や、環境破壊を嘆く白熊の気持を情感たっぷりに歌った『ホッキョクグマ』を作りました。エカテリーナさんとはすでに７年のお付き合いで、温かい師弟関係がうかがえました。その西村さんが、このたびファッションショーのプロデューサーとして陣頭指揮を執ることになりました。

西村さんは、エカテリーナさんの作ったドレスをご覧になって、とてもビックリしたそうです。「これは、歌手が活動の片手間に自分のステージ衣装を作ったのとはレベルが違う。もはや、一人のデザイナーの”作品”の域に達している」と。特に兵児帯（へこおび）や長襦袢など、男物の帯や着物を使ってドレスに仕立ててしまった才能には、本当に驚かれたそうです。

However Ekaterina almost gave up holding the event because of a serious incident occurred the end of last year. But she raised her face again. Look at her blog below for more details.

ひょんなことからプロデューサーの白羽の矢が立った西村さんですが、やる気は十分！しかし、実はエカテリーナさんは一時、ショーの開催を見合わせようと考えたことがあったそうです。それは、ある大事件がきっかけでした。ラジオをお聴きになった皆さんは、恐らく大変驚かれたことと思います。

西村さんには、来週もお越しいただきます。エカテリーナさんの名曲『古いお城のものがたり』の誕生秘話をお聞きします。昨年９月にも、NHK『みんなのうた』プロデューサーの川崎龍彦さんが、涙なしでは語れない感動の物語をお話ししていただきましたが、来週は”『古いお城のものがたり』もうひとつの誕生秘話”をご紹介いたしますので、お聴き逃しなく！

As Tokuhashi san told you on his blog, I’ll hold my 3rd fashion show on March 29 (Tue), 2011 at Shinagawa Intercity Hall. It’s very close to JR Shinagawa Station. Door open: 6PM, show starts from 7PM. I mentioned about the event a little bit on my diary on the Christmas Day, the end of last year.

But a short time later, the sky was falling down. I thought that I wouldn’t be able to hold the event. I couldn’t tell you what happened to me because I really, really got shocked by that. Now I gather the nerve to talk to you.

On the night of December 26, 2010, a casualty occurred in Den-en Chofu, Ota-ku. 2 old persons and their grandsons walking along the big avenue. Suddenly they were hit by a car and the kids died.
And a woman who got involved in the accident was M.N, a producer of my 1st & 2nd fashion show.

I got to know about that from my friend and made phone calls to Nishimura san and Tokuhashi san even though it was almost midnight.

M.N was hospitalized and I couldn’t see her for some days. When I met her for the first time since the accident occurred, she told me.

“Eka, you must hold the show on March 29”

Even though she was seriously injured, even though she’s lost 2 grandsons, she cared my show. She really cared for me.
So I decided, “I’ll make it!!”. M.N gave me great courage so I want to cheer her up. I want her to feel happy with my stage.

And I want kids who passed away to enjoy my show. One of them came to see my 2nd one in November 2010. I want them to see my show and feel happy!

徳橋さんのブログにもありましたが、３月２９日（火）に私の３回目のコンサート＆ファッションショーが行われます。場所はJR品川駅から徒歩５分のところにある「品川インターシティホール」。夜６時開場、夜７時開演です。確か、昨年暮れのクリスマスの日のブログ （こちらからお読み下さい）の一番最後にも、このことをチラッとお伝えしましたね。

でも、そのすぐ後に大変なことが起きました。「ファッションショーを開けないかも知れない」と思いました。当時はとても辛かったから、とてもじゃないけど皆さんにお伝えできませんでした。でも、あれから１ヶ月たった今なら、何とかお話しできそうな気がします。

昨年１２月２６日の夜、大田区の田園調布で大変大きな事故が起きました。中原街道沿いを、ワンちゃんを連れて歩いていたおじいさん、おばあさん、そして彼らのお孫さんが、突然走ってきた車にはねられました。この事故で、お孫さん２人の小さな命が奪われました。
実は、この事故に巻き込まれた方々の中に、私の１回目＆２回目ファッションショーのプロデュースをしてくれたM.Nさんと、彼女のご主人がいました。そして大変悲しいことですが、Mさんの２人のお孫さんが命を奪われました。
私はそのことを、人から電話で聞きました。そしてすぐに西村さんや徳橋さんたちにも伝えました。

事故の後、少しの間は入院先の病院でも会えなかったMさんでしたが、やがて会えるようになりました。そして、一番最初に私にこう言ってくれたんです。

「エカちゃん、３月２９日のショー、何としてでもやりなさい」

自分の体でさえもボロボロなのに、そしてお孫さんまで亡くしたのに、私のショーのことを考えてくれている。私のことを、本当に大事に考えてくれている。
だから私は「よし、やろう！」と思いました。Mさんは、私に前に進む勇気をくれた。だから今度は、私がMさんを元気にしたい。Mさんが喜ぶようなステージを作りたいと思いました。

そして、すごく悲しいけど亡くなってしまった小さな子どもたちにも、私のステージを見せたい！２回目のファッションショーの時は、お孫さんの一人が遊びに来てくれていたんです。だから、天国から見てくれている子どもたちが喜んでくれるステージにしたいと思っています。
