I’ve been very busy working on a concert, which will be held at Minato-mirai Hall on June 25. This is the regular concert marking the 41st anniversary of the foundation of a big choir called “Michi” (Way). I’ll sing three songs with them and several songs alone. Tickets are still available!
They’ve been singing Russian folk songs for over 40 years here in Japan. They are many elders and betters as it were. Moreover, they’ve performed in Siberia, my old home!
But I didn’t know about them until recently. I got to know them when they proposed to have a joint concert with me. Of course I said YES to them because I was happy to know about their activities as a bridge between Russia and Japan.
The choir created a new possibility for my career as a singer, so I’ll do my best and repay the infinite debt to them. And I would like to continue to have a good relationship with wonderful choir members, who have been loving my homeland deeply.
６月２５日に横浜の「みなとみらいホール」で行われるコンサートに向けて大忙しのエカテリーナです。
このコンサートは、横浜でロシア民謡を歌い続けている『道』という合唱団の４１周年記念定期演奏会で、それに私がゲスト出演という形で参加します。合唱団の皆さんとマイク無しで３曲、その後に３０分のソロステージです。チケットはまだあるそうですよ、と、ここでしっかりと宣伝です（笑）
あっさりと「４１周年」と言ってしまいましたが、私の歌手としてのキャリアよりもずっとずっと長い間、この日本でロシア民謡を歌い続けてきたわけですから、私の大先輩です。しかも、私の故郷のシベリアでもコンサートをしたんですって！
でも、私が『道』を知ったのはつい最近。私の存在を知った合唱団の皆さんが、私に声をかけて下さったのがきっかけです。日本とロシアの架け橋として長い間活動されてきた方たちの存在を今まで知らなかったこと、本当に申し訳ないと思いました。
私の歌手人生に新しい扉を開いてくれた『道』の皆さんのご恩に報いるために、２５日は頑張って歌います！そしてロシアを深く愛してくれている素敵な私の先輩方と、これからもずっとずっとお付き合いさせていただけたらと思っています。
