Her name is Leah Dubuc Muega and now she lives in Adachi-ku, located north of the heart of Tokyo. She came to Japan in 2005 and taught English in Yamagata Prefecture, a part of Tohoku area. Then Leah went back home to Michigan to finish college. And she returned to Japan in 2008 and became an English teacher again.<br \/>\nSo click the player at the top of this page and listen to her childbirth experience in the country, where her language is not spoken in.<\/p>\n<p>\u4eca\u9031\u306f\u4e2d\u592e\u533a\u304b\u3089\u5c11\u3057\u3060\u3051\u96e2\u308c\u305f\u8db3\u7acb\u533a\u306b\u304a\u4f4f\u307e\u3044\u306e\u30a2\u30e1\u30ea\u30ab\u4eba\u3068\u96fb\u8a71\u3092\u3064\u306a\u3044\u3067\u306e\u30a4\u30f3\u30bf\u30d3\u30e5\u30fc\u3067\u3057\u305f\u3002\u30de\u30e4\u3055\u3093\u306e\u3054\u53cb\u4eba\u306e\u30ea\u30a2\u30fb\u30c7\u30e5\u30d6\u30af\u30fb\u30e0\u30a8\u30ac\u3055\u3093\u3067\u3059\u3002\uff12\uff10\uff10\uff15\u5e74\u306b\u6765\u65e5\u3057\u3001\u5c71\u5f62\u770c\u3067\u82f1\u8a9e\u3092\u6559\u3048\u305f\u5f8c\u306b\u4e00\u6642\u5e30\u56fd\u3057\u5927\u5b66\u3092\u5352\u696d\u3001\u305d\u306e\u5f8c\uff12\uff10\uff10\uff18\u5e74\u306b\u518d\u6765\u65e5\u3057\u3066\u4eca\u306b\u81f3\u308a\u307e\u3059\u3002\u73fe\u5728\u3082\u82f1\u8a9e\u3092\u6559\u3048\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002<br \/>\n\u65e5\u672c\u306e\u75c5\u9662\u306f\u3001\u307e\u3060\u307e\u3060\u82f1\u8a9e\u304c\u901a\u3058\u306a\u3044\u3068\u3053\u308d\u304c\u591a\u3044\u3088\u3046\u3067\u3059\u3002 \u305d\u3093\u306a\u56fd\u3067\u3001\u5f7c\u5973\u306f\u5b50\u3069\u3082\u3092\u6388\u304b\u308a\u307e\u3057\u305f\u3002\u3055\u3066\u3001\u30ea\u30a2\u3055\u3093\u306f\u3069\u3093\u306a\u884c\u52d5\u3092\u53d6\u3063\u305f\u306e\u3067\u3057\u3087\u3046\u304b\u3002\u30d2\u30f3\u30c8\u306f&#8221;midwife&#8221;\u307e\u305f\u306f&#8221;midwifery&#8221;\u3067\u3059\u3002\u305d\u306e\u7b54\u3048\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u306f\u3001\u3053\u306e\u30da\u30fc\u30b8\u30c8\u30c3\u30d7\u306b\u3042\u308b\u30d7\u30ec\u30a4\u30e4\u30fc\u306712&#8217;25&#8243;\u4ee5\u964d\u3092\u304a\u8074\u304d\u304f\u3060\u3055\u3044\u306d\u3002<\/p>\n<p>Then, here&#8217;s a recommendation from Leah. The maternity center where she gave birth at is;<br \/>\n<strong>Matsugaoka Birth Center<\/strong> (Nakano-ku, Tokyo)\u3000<a onclick=\"javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('\/outgoing\/midwife.blush.jp\/matsugaoka\/e\/index.html');\"  href=\"http:\/\/midwife.blush.jp\/matsugaoka\/e\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/midwife.blush.jp\/matsugaoka\/e\/index.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>They have 6 rooms (3 are Japanese-styled, another 3 rooms are Western-styled) and 2 birthing rooms (1 with a pool and 1 with tatami mats). They serve you very healthy and macrobiotic Japanese food. Ms. Sou, the clinic director, can speak English (Midwives can not). She said, &#8220;If I had to do again, I would go to the same midwifery clinic.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>And&#8230; her husband, who speaks some Japanese, \u00a0took care of her very much. He&#8217;d been with her all the time during the birth and gentled on Leah&#8217;s back. That must be a really, really big help ! Leah wanted to give birth to a baby at her home because she wanted to control the situation of having her baby. She was afraid that she wouldn&#8217;t understand Japanese doctors or nurses and everything was going on. So she thought, &#8220;If I have birth at my own house, I would understand everything.&#8221; So she wanted an English-speaking midwife.<br \/>\nThen she asked Maya to find a midwife or to interpret what a midwifery said and pass those on to Leah. But Maya opposed her idea because she had to have so much responsibility. Moreover her family disagreed with her plan. When she gave birth to her first baby here in Tokyo about 16 years ago, she knew almost nothing about where hospitals are and how Japanese insurances apply to her case. Her Japanese skills were lower than the current level, so she couldn&#8217;t catch a lot of technical terms that doctors and nurses were using.
